Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our third Brighter Sun Benefit Concert. What a night it was! Simon Petty played for the third year and wowed the crowd again. And The Dustbowl Revival was absolutely fantastic! They definitely had everyone hopping.
The El Rey Theatre is such an iconic L.A. venue…the energy in the room was amazing! A great, great night!
We got the beat: New course tunes into music
Popular music course established in memory of an alum will be taught by a visiting artist or scholar

2nd Annual Brighter Sun Benefit Concert!
Another amazing sold out event! Zach Gill along with Simon Petty with Ruled by Venus put on a fantastic show! A million thanks to our Sponsors and everyone who attended. Your support made it possible for The Michael Bonanomi Foundation to fund The inaugural Visiting Artist/Scholar of Popular Music Program at The University of California, Santa Cruz, Music4Site@SweetRelief and the music program at Farragut Elementary School in Culver City.

First Annual Brighter Sun Benefit Concert!
The First Annual Brighter Sun Benefit Concert was held on October 21, 2015 at The Mint in Los Angeles. The event was a great success. We sold out! And the music was absolutely fantastic. The incredible FRUITION headlined the event along with Simon Petty and The Thieves. They put on an amazing show! So much fun, and most importantly a success for our fund raising recipients. We have funded a $10,000 scholarship in Michael’s memory for a music student at his alma mater, University of California, Santa Cruz and have contributed $15,000 to the HOLA Jazz Music Ensemble program.
THANK YOU to everyone who supported our foundation with your generous donations and to everyone who attended our First Annual Brighter Sun Benefit Concert.
We’ll keep you informed as we move along with plans for our Second Annual Brighter Sun Benefit Concert to be held this fall.

Pure Barre, Brentwood, held a special “donation only” class
With all proceeds going to the Foundation. Our heartfelt thanks to Pure Barre owners, Marni Chaikin and Kayla Allen (our instructor for the day), for their generous donation of their time and studio. Pure Barre students and newcomers alike had a great time. Pure Barre is a total body workout that utilizes the ballet barre to perform small, isometric movements, which burn fat, sculpt muscles and create long, lean physiques. We urge you all to take a class at Pure Barre, Brentwood. Thanks again, Marni and Kayla.

The 4th Annual Conor Lynch 5k Run/Walk
We are participating in the 4th Annual Conor Lynch 5k Run/Walk. 8:00 AM at Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Park. For more information: www.inhonorofconor.org.
The Conor Lynch Foundation has been established to support new and existing programs that raise awareness and promote the safety of runners, pedestrians, cyclists and young drivers. Your contribution, and events such as safety fairs and the annual 5K Run/Walk “In Honor Of Conor” directly benefit this foundation, and work to ensure that no family suffers a loss like this again.
Michael’s photograph will be included in the Honor of Conor Memorial Garden. A memorial garden for victims of distracted driving is part of this year’s Run/Walk. A serene setting paying homage to these beautiful angels who were taken too soon.

The Michael Bonanomi Memorial Bench
A special bench has been donated by Michael’s parents. It is in front of Perry’s at Lot 7, just off the bike path, looking straight out to the ocean he loved. An informal dedication was held in February. Since then, many friends have stopped by to sit for a while, reflect and remember.

Santa Monica Beach Clean-up
Thank you to Will Shepler for organizing the beach clean up for “Mike’s Beach” which was held on October 19th from 9-10 am. Parents and kids alike came out to clean up the beach just next to the Santa Monica Pier…one of Michael’s favorite spots. He cared a lot about keeping the beach clean and safe. Everyone raised a glass in Michael’s honor at Big Dean’s after the cleanup. We thank everyone so much for joining us.
