Michael’s Story
Our amazing son, brother and friend, Michael Spencer Bonanomi, was tragically taken from us by a hit and run driver on August 17, 2013. He was only 35 years old. Michael was an advertising professional in Los Angeles, an outstanding producer of websites and an exceptional and dedicated employee. But what really defined him was his passion for music. He was an accomplished musician and songwriter who believed emphatically that music was a path to greater understanding among people and joy in the world. His great pleasure came from performing his music, alone with just a microphone or with a group of fellow musicians, at countless small venues, as often as he could.
Michael was truly amazing. A son who adored his family and with whom he spent so much quality time. A friend who you could laugh with, share a passion for the Lakers and Dodgers with, enjoy a well cooked meal with, share your dreams with or just depend on for a couch to sleep on. He valued those relationships. And, he was a person with a great moral compass. He hated injustice, he stuck up for the “little guy”, he always tried to make things right. And he was probably the most resourceful person on the planet. He could talk his way backstage at some of the biggest concerts in the world…and nobody knew how he did it!
That’s who Michael was. And that is the legacy we hope to share. To make the world a better place through music and to keep his passion alive.
